WEST ROWAN BOYS WIN OVER NORTH ROWAN IN AN EXCITING MATCH

Coach Mike Gurley is one happy man. His team the West Rowan defeated their arch rivals North Rowan in a match that literally had players from both the sides giving in much more than their best.

This victory was none the less sweet as it came as a 400th career win for Coach Mike. The game was a very, very close one as the 78-75 score card would tell. All this took place in the presence of a roaring and enthusiastic crowd in Spencer.

27 points were scored by North Rowan’s Sam Starks who was very threatening early on. Even Keshun Sherrill had 20 for the Falcons. But then this is exactly where probably the North team made a big mistake by limiting him.

As for the west, Freshman Devin Parks was on fire with his 18 points. Quarterback B.J. Sherrill surprised one and all with his appearance first and then an equally gritty performance. He ended up scoring 15 points. Not that the North team didn’t play well. It was just that every time they hit back at the West, the West would come up with some more. In the end though, the match was still a close one. It was just that the efforts by North just didn’t seem enough.

Gurley, in the mean time has coached 112 wins at Lexington where he had a great stint as well. While his last 298 staggering victories came in Mount Ulla. For once, here is a legendary coach who really gets the best out of his team and the confidence of his boys wherever he goes.

THE RISE AND RISE OF ECCO STREET SHOE
